As a creative person, I’ve worn many hats both personally and professionally. I have lived and traveled far and wide over the years and I’ve acquired a wide range of interests, experiences and skills. Naturally, as time progresses, it is easier and easier to see how “my life pieces” fit together. I can’t think of a better way to celebrate that than to share my personal perspectives visually with the public.
I would say that my “work” is best described as Iconographic. Iconography, is basically a way to identify, describe or support “conventional” meanings visually. By using different types of images, symbolic references or cultural motifs I’m able to represent people, places or things much like a portrait or group of portraits .
I like to also use materials, natural or man made, that are abundant or excessive in our day to day environment and emphasize themes such as history, seasonal change, nature, color and repetition. All of these “pieces” inform my ART, my DESIGN and COOK my food, with unique results.
